Summer is here, and with it comes a lot of fear for the people who are not confident enough to strip off on the beach. It is never nice comparing yourself to other women, but you can’t help it in some cases. Summer, however, should not be a time of year that you hate just because you don’t like the way you look. It is time to get proactive and finally enjoy the summer months.
If you are not ready for the challenge then you won’t succeed. Unfortunately, getting into shape isn’t as easy as imagining it and then it happens. You have to work hard and be ready to put in a lot of effort if you want that perfect beach bod. That means taking control and asking yourself how you are going to achieve your goals. If your mental state is fit and healthy, your body will soon follow.
Cut Out The Alcohol
Alcohol, especially beer, is full of calories. But, these calories are not the type of calories that your body can use. They are dead calories and they have no nutritional value whatsoever. The only way your body can use them is to store them as fat. So, if you cut out the beer you will cut out the excess pounds too.
You can’t just diet and not exercise. Dieting and eating healthy is only one part of the puzzle, and exercising is the other. Again, you have to take control because you will always feel as though you cannot be bothered going to the gym. If you are motivated, you will actually like exercising, especially if you choose the right methods. For example, you don’t have to go for a run or to the gym to get your daily intake of exercise. You can do yoga or workout from the comfort of your living room with some of the best low impact workout DVDs on the market. Honestly; you never have to leave the house again to get fit!
At times, you will feel like you can eat a horse, and the portions on your plate will resemble that feeling. But, it is a trick of the mind and you don’t need to eat as much as you think. If you control your portions on your plate you will soon find that you can eat less and not be hungry afterwards.
Hunger is the stomach telling the brain that it needs filling. However, it takes a while to relay the messages, which means you can end up eating more than you need. If you eat quickly, you are not giving your body enough time to react, so take your time while you eat. You will be a lot more fulfilled from a lot less food.
Little & Often
If you are still hungry after meal times, try eating little and often. Some people just like to eat, and there is nothing wrong with that fact. Just change your habits to suit your needs. Instead of three big meals, try six small meals throughout the day.
Just remember that the results can take time. It is a long term goal instead of a short term shortcut.
